About Facilities

Facilities in the LMS represent rooms at training centers, for which you can specify the location, the seating arrangements, and audio and video equipment available.

As a catalog administrator, you associate a facility with a training center, so that when you configure the class schedule for a classroom training session, selecting a training center enables you to book the facility. You can manually specify whether a facility is available to book by setting its status. All facilities associated with a training center are subject to its holiday calendar.

You can attach a map to a facility, which learners can download from the Knowledge Center or other pages from which learners can access the Facility Directions page. This page also includes the contact details and directions for the facility if they have been specified.

When you edit a facility you can open its schedule to see when it has been booked for and for which courses. You can then edit any class schedules for which it has been booked, or open the corresponding learning module session in the Catalog Editor. You can also create a new schedule event to book the facility. The new event can be linked to a session's class schedule, or you can book the facility by itself.

Facilities do not have their own access permissions. To manage facilities, your user role must have unrestricted access to the Class Resource Manager feature in System Roles (Manage Features > Catalog Manager Features). 

To manage facilities, go to Manage Center > Learning > Facilities, where you can search for, create, edit, and delete facilities.
