You can send emails (including attachments) to a target audience of users, either manually or when specific events are triggered. For example, course administrators can send participants custom emails or standard email notifications that use configurable templates that specify the message content and target audience.
You can configure standard, event-triggered emails to be sent automatically, using templates. These include enrollment confirmations sent to course participants, for example.
If your organization has a multi-language LMS implementation, administrators can configure email templates to be sent to LMS users in their preferred language, as long as it is one of the languages activated for the LMS. You can also specify the default language used for email templates.
In addition to standard email parameters, such as To, CC, BCC and Subject fields, you can also include in the email message body various LMS parameters, such as {participant_name} and {course_title}, which are replaced with the corresponding information when the email is sent.
An example workflow for configuring emails:
Administrators with unrestricted access to the Mail feature in System Roles (Learner-Oriented Features > Learn Features) can configure email templates.
To configure global settings for email, go to Manage Center > System > System Configuration and select Mail from the category drop-down list.
